A California man arrested last August has been sentenced to 15 years in prison and 25 years supervised released for traveling to South Carolina to have sex with a 15-year-old.
Charles Henry Ross, 29, traveled from California to South Carolina for the purpose of having a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old in Lexington County, according to Assistant U.S. Attorney Jim May.
Ross had been communicating with the 15-year-old for several months before he purchased a ticket and flew to South Carolina.
The 15-year-old boy’s parents found Ross at their home and notified the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department, May said.
Ross was arrested last August on three counts of sexual conduct with a minor, according to S.C. Attorney General Alan Wilson.
